The story of Pocahontas and John is that of war, love, and peace. Their conflicting ethnic and social backgrounds amounted to nothing when placed beside their want for peace and their feelings for each other. With, of course, the help of a talking tree.

Although they never really ended up together in Disney’s version (John left to heal his gun-shot wound and Pocahontas stayed with her family) their love and loyalty for each other and their families was a more than enough testament for a Disney “they lived happily ever after” ending.
